I realise the way I bid it may not have been optimal, but it appears from the description of 5S that it's main concern is trumps, in the context that I've already shown a solid suit hmmm. If it was asking for a heart control, can the description please include "3- 8421 points in H" or whatever?

The rule that applies when there's just one uncontrolled suit is able to display that information. But in this case, North is worried about two suits (trumps and the unbid suit), and the rule language makes it hard to display the other suit (getting the unique suit in the other rule is nontrivial, too). So you have to infer that since it never bid and isn't showing controls there, that it needs you to have them.

Is it so hard to have a rule that says that if one partner shows solid trumps, trumps are not an issue (ie. it would bypass that part of the description)?
