Mine was the upvote for Cherdano, because he seemed to be first to be getting into the spirit and subtly trying (in vain) to difuse what happened later with the spate of red things. Little did I know that it would turn into a platform for the unofficial post police.

Because you're in 2nd seat, this is WTP territory. No sense preempting your partner and missing good slams when you have no reason to believe the opps have a big fit (since your pard will usually have 3+ ♠ and 4+ ♥.) Open 1♦.

I'd still open 1♦ in first, but it's at least worth considering 5♦ there.
