What is GiB doing bidding 2S on T9x? I haven't checked, but it looks like it sent everyone (bar one who didn't open the South hand) to go for 1100 on a deal where EW are lucky to make game.

It seems to throw spade bid like that pretty frequently.
It's really impossible for it to show 4 spades, since it denied that when it didn't make a negative double on the first round.

What should the 2♠ bid show? It seems that both GIB's action and his explanation were bad, in addition to being inconsistent with each other.

I assumed it was like 5C and 4S and 6-9, and didn't want to double incase opps raised it to 2H leaving it with no good way to show the hand (3C would be invitational).

I like the 2♠ call. A competitive raise to 3♣ allowing partner to opt for a potentially better contract if holding four spades. Give Opener ♠AKJx ♥Kxx ♦xxx ♣Kxx, and I like 2♠ better.
I hate the 3♠ call. Partner did his job getting the opponents to the three-level. Bidding again is asking for a huge set.
Sometimes even robots have to shake their heads.

"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Great bid for a human- terrible for a GIB since its supposed to predictable.
Also terrible because it could push opponents to their making 3NT.
