Robots in EFAF on Board 1?

Yesterday (early this morning?) I played in tournament #5798. According to the traveller,
http://online.bridge...name=bbradley62, 8 robots played Board 1. Why would that be? I'd understand up to 3, to fill out a table to avoid sit-outs. Is the name listed on the traveller the name of the player who made the first call in each seat?

Maybe they were subbed in for players who didn't make their first bid within the 60-second limit?
