Sorry if this duplicates points made before.

I note that in the windows client there is an optional field in the player's profile described as email address. This field is not present in the Flash profile.
The field (in windows) is very rarely used to publish an email address, and indeed arguably players should rightly be discouraged from publishing it (perhaps except yellows), at least unless they are happy to use a "disposable" address. I can therefore understand and sympathise with the decision to exclude the field from the Flash interface.

However that field (in windows) is widely used to add system notes which through space limitations do not fit into the main body of the profile note.

A consequence of this (to my mind undesirable) is that if a Flash user sits at a table with a windows user, the latter having entered system notes in the email field, then the Flash user does not get to see those notes and quite possibly the windows user may be unaware of that fact.

I would prefer it if the entirety of the windows-user profile is visible to a Flash user.

Why not remove it totally. There is the system card area for your system notes which you can fill in or not.

I am OK with that - my main desire is consistency between the apps.
If doing that it would be nice if the limitation on characters in the main profile area were increased so as to placate those who currently use the email field for that purpose.

Most players use a combination. They create system cards for regular partners, and general notes of preferences and capabilities in their profile, for the benefit of pickup partners. These routes fulfil different functions.
There are a very few individuals who do use the email address field for its designed purpose. Perhaps that argues for enabling the field in both rather than disabling.
