Your bid and why?

I'm going to try 3♣. This seems less likely than 2♠ to convince partner to hang me in a suit I don't really have. If partner bids 3NT I'm not passing.

3D! = long Diam, no 4s, no 3h
3H! = 3h, no 4s, 5+d

I've got company! This was my choice too, but I didn't want to admit to it alone.
At matchpoints, I would put more weight on getting to the major, and therefore one of 3♥, 4♥ or even 4♣(!) would be my bid.
As for opening 2♣, you can make a good case for that to be sure, but in general sequences featuring a 2♣ opening and a 3♦ rebid blow all kinds of goat.

how wonderful you can show this exact hand.
I will post other hand from bridge magazine after a few more comments.

If you want to raise hearts I think the best rebid is 4♦ which shows 4-card heart support and very good and long diamonds.
Yeah a 2♣ opening followed by 3♦ usually creates havoc but I think partner knows that we know this and therefore he will know that we have an extreme hand when we do use it. Some people here play 2♣ followed by 3M as showing 6+ diamonds and 4M. (In the Netherlands some people put those hands in the Multi). This would mean that 2♣ followed by 3♦ denies four hearts, so we can bid 4♥ at our third turn.

Well pretty close, I can show a good 6+ card diamond suit with 7.5-9 playing tricks, and if partner has more than 4 hearts and doesn't want to raise diamonds, he'll bid 3♥ over which I can bid 4♣ to show 3 hearts and a club control but no spade control, so I'm not in bad shape. The 3♦ bid is always one suited, so new suits after are unambiguous.

I'm ready for Responder's hand.

From my post #6 :
1D - 1H
2S! - 2NT! ( asks for clarification )
3H! - 4H
pass
where: 3H! = 3h, no 4s, 5+d
and 2S! was ( may be artificial ) GF .
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Edit: I supposed Responder could make an advance cue of 4C for Hts as trump
( an obvious cue since there is no other reason to show Clubs at this point ),
and it should be the Ace since Opener's bidding shows very few Cl; and at the same time the Cl-cue denies a Spade control. Again, 4H will be the final contract

We've pinpointed the spade lead which is not a disaster at IMPS, but not so good at MPs.
