Hello, I could not find a place to write to "contacts" for BBo to ask for help. I am just beginning to play with Robots. It has been extremely frustrating. Again, tonight, playing, I opened one notrump, my robot passed with 17 points. How can I play with reasonable partners as robots? would love some comment. Thanks.

I do not want to feel that my Bridge Bucks are just being taken, but this is the third night I have played, and this is a common occurrence. Thanks

You can report bugs in the gib robot discussion area

In general, the bots are better than most on BBO, but they do make some really bad errors at times, you just have to live with them really. It's also worth remembering that GiB mistakes are usually very different than human mistakes so its mistakes may seem bizarre.

When reporting a GIB bug, it's helpful to provide a link to the hand record. If you don't know how to do this, telling the developers exactly when the problem occurred will help them find the problem hand. However, it doesn't appear that there's any hand fitting your description in your hand records for tonight.

You should also know that GIB plays 2/1 Game Force, not SAYC. Until you get used to his system, you should look at the explanations given for his bids. In the box where the auction is shown, any bid that has a yellow background has an explanation available for you to look at simply by clicking on it. Also, before you make a bid, you can point your cursor at any potential bid and the system will show you what the bid would mean. For an explanation of GIB's bidding system, you can look here:

Also, when in on BBO you can look at the Stock Convention Cards, and GIB's card is there.

I concur with Bbradley62. If you go back over MyHands and re-look at the the four hands from the last day in which you scored minus IMPs they all look like systemic decisions that you would not have made if you fully appreciated the meaning of GIBs previous bids as partner.

There is no explanation for holding 17 points and passing an opening bid, it`s a bug for heavens sake.
More concerning is that the old bug where GIB passes with 17 points over a 1♦ opener was fixed in the last release and now appears to have surfaced over a 1N opening.

It seems like a bug, except we cannot find such a hand in OP's hand records.

If madly45 had opened 1NT, and then GIB passed with 17, it sounds like a bug to me. Moving this to GIB discussion.

Madly, please follow it there. Can you provide more details please? Exact hand, where it happened, these are all useful.

In general, I will have to agree and say GIB plays above average. And to keep improving it, bugs need to be reported and fixed.

In addition to reporting things here, you can also use BBO's "Robot Report". When viewing the hand results, click on "Export Deal" and select "Send Robot Report". This sends the hand directly to the GIB developer.

However, I just noticed that robot report isn't available when viewing Robot Rewards and Bingo Rewards hands in My Hands.
