Oh, you do not intend to try for a slam - even you couldn't make one of those, let alone partner.

I'd presumably bid 4♦ as a SA transfer to spades as I don't really have lead values. This well thought out plan may go badly if one opponent doubles and they find a good 5♦ sac as a result. But that rarely happens.

I assume the options are 2H - 2S - 4S and an immediate jump to 4S, 'cos we're English and those are commonly the two ways of bidding game in this auction.

I will jump to 4S. Not so much because I'm scared of a double of 2H, but also because it's not obvious we'll be better off with the lead coming round to partner, and there are often advantages to having the distributional hand concealed.

p.s. opposite someone who says they play 15-17 but opens a lot of 14s it's not so obvious this is a game force at all forms of scoring. But that's a different question.

I'd bid 4♠, since I'd like to have the distributional hand unseen. Also, Jxx is a nice positional value.

At least in England, SAT traditionally show a slam try and partner is allowed to go past 4M.

In answer to your question, Yes I play tenace! Unfortunately I don't have any but partner rates to have a lot!! 4♥!!! for me.
