I think that 2H will often work out better than 2S (or double), but it is not a call I would likely make at the table. If partner has equal length in the majors we probably don't want to play in spades. 2H also has the advantage that we can bid spades next, even if the opponents bid 4D or 5D. Had we bid spades first than all heart-bids would be NF. Perhaps we'll be allowed to bid hearts first, then spades, and then clubs, giving a fair picture of our shape. If the opponents bid a lot of diamonds, I might go all the way to 7C without encouragement from partner.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I'd double cos I play NFBs, the convention sucks when you have a 2 suiter and I might be stuck for a 5NT rebid

not paying NFB's I'd just bid 2♠, I like han's idea of 2♥ but that wouldn't even cross my mind at the table

2♠ if thats forcing otherwise dbl if opener rebids ♣ then exclusion 5♦.The auction will depend on level of interference in diamonds.

Mortal fear that double might end the auction. (X AX KJTX KXXXXX)

Comfortable, for now, that 2M is GF for us ---(not popular).

Also not sure I would have found 2H at the table, but it sure could work out nicely if pard has something like JXX AXX QX KJXXX.

West will bid 5♦ over South's call.

If 5D comes back around to me, I feel even better about Han's 2H bid. Will try 5S and comfortable that partner will probably feel forced to the slam level.
