Hi,

It is either 4S or 5D - I am not going to sell out below 5D,
so I am removing as much space, as I can.

4S has the downside, that it gives them a opportunity to X 4S,
so 5D may be better from a tactical point of view.

5D on the other hand burries any potential slam.

With kind regards
Marlowe

2♠ seems auto. Pard is likely to have a balanced 12-14 and our LHO will probably raise spades. It will depend a bit on what pard bids (or doesn't bid) next, but we seem to be in shape to go up to 5♦ at least.

Slam was a fair shot but failed.

partner had

♠Axxx
♥xxxx
♦Axx
♣KJ

RHO has low dubleton club and ♦QJ so it takes a club finese to win 6♦, not a good line.

I was sleepy and bid 4♦ followed by double over 4♠, +200 was about 40% MPs I think.
