If he bids 3♥, 3♠, 4♣ I will probably raise.
If he bids 3NT I will have to decide between passing , or correcting to 4♠.

3♣- you have already shown your extras by doubling- you need extra support in clubs and a diamond cover to have any chance of making 3NT, something more than minimum reponse- Q♣, q♥ and A♦ would be perfect. 3♦ would be if you have a solid run of at least 6♣ and two outside winners.

AK/AK/KQ is NOT 19 admittedly not having a 3rd spade is bad, but I would have treated as 20.

Would have opened 2N and avoided a lot of these shenanigans probably.

This is matchpoints. I think opening 2NT is against the field, and probably is to be avoided, unless you are swinging.

Somewhat conservative, but this is MP's, so it "just" has to be rigth. When we pull 2♥, partner will know this is our hand-type, and thus know we have ekstra values.

Partner will often be 5-4-2-2, and no game will be possible.

At IMP's I wouldn't have the cohones for it.

3d mich-b is on track

everything we do is in context. 3d best option for the following reasons:

1. we have a superb hand just no clear direction as yet.
2. with 6 running clubs and 2 major aces we would have bid 3d (not x)
3. we suspect p is short 1D not 100% (opp raise to 2d with AQ for ex:)
4. P heard us x yet all they could do was bid 2h
5. P will know that we need d stop + club help to make 3n (see 2)
6. 3h 3s 4c by p are all good enough for us to raise to game (though at MP I might would consider passing 4c)
7. we can pass 3n (see 6)

3S. We have a very good hand for partner but I don't want to force to game. 3H is also an option, but partner is unlikely to be 5-5. If partner is 5-4 then I think that spades tends to be better than hearts.

On this hand maybe, I get payback when partner has 3 or 4 small and that is sufficient.

We play good 19-21 for 2N so I have to do this anyway.

can we draw any inference by the fact that aprtner didn't double 1♦?, I am not sure what the standard meaning of double is.

I like han's 3♠, but IMO our hand is too strong for that, if partner gets tapped on spade contract then we won't be safe at any level. And the fact he has 7 HCP instead of 5 won't be a big issue. All in all I think I just go for 3♦ and bid 4♠ next unless I can raise hearts or clubs

Pd showed 5♠+4♥ and from bidding he is more likely to hold 2♦.

I bid 4♠, i am up for game vs his minimum values and 5♠+4♥

Yes we showed extras by our DBL ( not neccessarilly 19 ) , but 3 small ♦ and KQ-AKx in pd's suits makes this hand much more than just an invite to game imo. Besides dbl doesnt mean 19+.
