to be fair, it is actually a 4-card major system. And 1NT showing both majors was part of the original Moscito also.

I think Ron is confusing the responses to the 1♣ opening (1♦ negative, 1M showing five) with openings.

No it wasn't, Helene. The original Moscito had 1D showing both majors. It was changed significantly later to 1NT showing the Ms.

Re the 5 card Ms. I was actually referring to responses to 1C. I expressed myself badly.

An intriguing tale. At first, I thought, this might be some kind of new advanced viagra spam. Obviously I will not click on that link!

I went to click report, and then I saw join date 2003! Respect. I hadn't joined in 2003. Helene hadn't. Ironically a few of those who had had posted in this short but epic thread. I had to investigate more.

Kfizzle? It sounds so much like Kfay. But 2003! This was pre-kfay. I clicked on the profile. What I found next would shock me. An ICQ number! Wow, that's so 2003. Actually who am I kidding, that's so pre Y2k. But his number was an 8 digit number starting with 5 /icqdigitsnobbery.

So, 3 posts since 2003. This is one. What were the others? I clicked on "find my content" to no avail. I noticed this lame disclaimer:

"There have been 1 items by kfizzle
(Search limited from 2010-February-15)"

WTF, thanks new forums, you suck!

On to the old method. First I just searched his name. A stupid method, for I am no gwnn. I found one of the two remaining threads.

Amazing, it was started by kfiz about systems (aptly titled, bidding systems), and had roughly the same one this one had before my post. I will note the hog and free posted in both threads. Pretty amazing accomplishment, spanning over 7 years and both having 5 or 6 replies...

We also got misho AND inquiry in the old threads. Epic.

Everyone had a 2003 join date, but I guess that makes sense since the thread was in 2003.

On to business, the elusive third post. I was quite surprised at how anxious I was to find it. Was it also in 2003? Or perhaps in 2007, and he comes only every 4 years. Was it going to be about systems? Would it be started by him? The anxiety consumed me.

I did another search, a proper search. I searched for author: kfizzle. Success!

His third post was also a thread started by him, and it was about WJ 2000 (yeah 2000, because this is oldschool *****es!)

This thread was a few days after his previous one, and only got 2 replies. I can only assume that is because the system guru himself, DrTodd, made the last post and it shut everyone up. Combine that with the polish BBO god wojela being the other post... well you know what I am saying.

Personally I was kind of disappointed to find that the other post was also in 2003, until I realized how epic that made this thread. Kfizzle waited SEVEN AND A HALF YEARS to return to us. And who was there to greet him? The hog and free, still alive and kicking. It's just a great story.

actually ya, i've played bridge since 9 years old, but ya i didn't learn how to bid till 2003 when i went online
on bbo. i knew gameplay, but didnt know any bidding systems besides goren or bangkok club. thats what i learned from what i used to play with my parents as a kid.

i still opted not to go to bridge clubs, but i have also quit playing online, though sparsely. i prefer kitchen bridge more than anything.

my favorite systems are 2/1, and AUC. AUC stands for "an unassuming club", basically multiple club or small club system. I prefer AUC more than 2/1. I also love the weak nt a lot because its an obstructive bid. AUC is played mostly in Eastern Europe, in countries like Germany and Russia.

I have a sad note to tell, I get a strange feeling that people are gonna stop playing 2/1 in the US and play other systems, a red flag here, but you should be able to tell from my site.


I got introduced to MOSC back in 2006, and was told to make up my own MOSCITO system to viral it thru the world.

So i did my best, my only issue is i treated 1c responses like 2c forcing.. i know i guess im just naughty besides being stupid...

But i have little experience with moscito, except ive learned not to use pointed suits in situations. Then the fact i dont use any signaling either except hi-low and odd/even. (you never want to give out a wrong signal in bridge..)


if you think you could give me ideas to better this system then feel welcome, cause i could use any advices i could get. my only thought? is that id like it as simple as possible.
