IMPs.
The result is ridiculous, and at least one of the players seem to have underbid (please vote).
BTW, what do you suggest as a bidding sequence with those hands ?

maybe 75%N is not enough but 100%N is probably too much even tho he severely undervalued his 6 controls

South made a value bid, North made a bid from another galaxy.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I agree with another galaxy.

If you have methods to show a GF singlesuiter at opener's first rebid then South may consider it, but playing standard methods I agree with 3.

North can just bid 6 or maybe 6NT (if matchpoints) at this point. I wouldn't know how to reach 7. North would have to know about the 7th diamond, or South would have to take charge.

Hi,

North.

One may or may not force with the South hand to game,
but 3D is ok, in the end this showes 16HCP and a 6 card
suit, South has a 7 card suit, but the rest fits.

In contrast 3NT is not a reasonable call, that basically
showes no real interest in more than slam, and could be made
with the pure hope of making 3NT, take away 1King and 1Ace, and
North may still bid 3NT.

The best bid from North is 4D, he has a control rich hand, and
is interested in looking slam in diamonds.

With kind regards

South has shown 7 playing tricks, he has 8, so in the ballpark. Playing standard methods, N is pessimistic, and should reach 6 at least.

We would bid 1-1-2N(GF unbal)-3(relay)-3-4-4-4-5-5-7N

Basically S shows a gameforce with diamonds, N shows his 4 cards, only danger, he has C Ax

North should bid 4, forcing, and South will be very happy with the way his life is working out tonight.

North's "stultifying 3NT " takes the cake.

I also think North should just bid 6D/6NT after the 3D-jump.

I just happen to have a GF bid over 1H ( recall Gnasher's Gadget )... but I think I would only get to 6NT ( also not knowing about South's seven Diam cards ):

1D - 1H
2S! - 2NT!( asks )
??
..3C! = ( 3om ) = 4s, no 3h, 5+d
..3D! = long Diam, no 4s, no 3h
..3H! = 3h and 5+d, no 4s ( note how this shows 3 cards AND long , something you can't ordinarliy do at this level )
..3S! = 3h and 4s

After:
3H! - 3S ( cue ; or perhaps looking for 3NT )
4C ( cue ) - 4D ( cue )
4H ( cue ) - 6NT
