Sometimes when posting a hand from myhands, using handviewer, it would be nice to be able to omit the names of the players to avoid unnecessarily embarrassing people. Would this be possible?

I think you should be able to do that yourself after creating the file to post. Just go in and xxxxxx out the names.

I normally just post a link using [hv=...], as the developers instructed us to do. How would I create an file such that I would maintain the play of the hand and bid explanations?
I don't know how to use the [hv=...] method.
This would work until the developers could put something in place..

Thanks. I'll play with that for a little while.
For the hv= method, the syntax is: (hv=myhand=M-28705085-1306565101)400|300(/hv)
replacing the parentheses with brackets, to get:
where the myhands= part comes from copying the shortcut in the myhands records.

This is a particularily BAD way to post stuff in the forum. The hands in myhand stay a month or two or three and then are gone. When the hands go away from myhands, the hand you post in the forum will "disappear". A better solution is the one in the link suggested by jillybean. Even better still is to use the excel tool I created (if I do have to say so myself.
The excel tool is discussed in this post... excel tool for lin file posting

Thanks for your help. I had trouble with the site where the excel file is, but copying, pasting and editing the lin stuff works just fine.
