I don't think GIB understands balancing. What was the description of 5? I'll bet it said something like 20+ HCP, twice-rebiddable . If that's what you have, its control-rich hand should provide a decent play for slam.

Barmar is correct.

You can see what the bid probably means, if you click the 5, then mouse over the D.
