So we're trying out...

1S-
.....2C-artificial GF
.....2D-hearts, inv+
.....2H-LR spades

and

1H-
.....2C-artificial GF
.....2D-LR hearts

ACBL told me we're not required to suggest a defense, but it would be nice to offer one if asked. Suggestions?

This is not a tough-to-defend convention. Meta-agreements tell me that:

Doubling 2 shows . Cuebidding shows a 2-suiter with the other major and a minor.

Transfer to : Doubling 2 shows and bidding 2//NT shows minors. Obviously 2 shows better , 2 better .

Limit raise: Doubling the raise is T/O and cuebidding shows a 2-suiter with the other major and a minor.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do!

Are the responses to 2C similar to "GoLady" -- [forget who to attribute]
or into shape relays? Else?

Edit (GoLady is archived --hard to find)

After 1H:2C:
2D 5+ Hearts, 1-suited. Allows 2NT to ask for shortness.
2H 4 Spades, 2-suited. Allows 2NT to ask for shortness.
2S 4+ Clubs, 2-suited. Allows 2NT to ask for shortness.
2NT Exactly 4 Diamonds, 2-suited. Allows 3C to ask for shortness.
3C 5+ Diamonds, 2-suited. Allows 3D to ask for shortness.
3D 4-5-0-4 distribution, 3-suited.
3H Warns of sub-minimal 1H opener.
3S 0-5-4-4 distribution, 3-suited.
3NT 4-5-4-0 distribution, 3-suited.

Meanwhile, after 1S:2C:
2D 4+ Hearts, 2-suited. Allows 2NT to ask for shortness.
2H 5+ Spades, 1-suited.
3D 5-4-0-4 distribution, 3-suited.
3H 5-0-4-4 distribution, 3-suited.
3S Warns of sub-minimal 1S opener.
3NT 5-4-4-0 distribution, 3-suited.

Would you describe GoLady?

We lump 5440s in with 5431s. Then

1S-2C
.....2D
..........2S-4 clubs
..........2N-5 clubs
..........3C-5332
..........3D etc resolving 5 diamonds
.....2H-single-suited (+1 from standard symmetric)
.....2S-4 diamonds (+1 from standard symmetric)
.....2N-5 hearts
.....3C-4 hearts, higher shortness
.....3D-5422
.....3H-5431
.....3S-6421
.....3N-6430
