AS SOUTH i decided to open 4d,not 3 diamonds-and not 5 d although all are options, in fact i even considered passing,and later back in,hate prempting partner,
however opened 4 d....

the bidding proceeded 4d--x--p--4s
p --p-5d--5s
p--6s-x --p now my lead. how do i get a club ruff,perhaps...and playing with a sub to boot in a tourney.and i am pleased to nominate his handle ERATAV.
so i led 2diamonds------dummy went down 2/3/1/7 shape. x6 d pard produced K and declarer followed:)---no hesitation 10 clubs came wing back followed ruff by me.now im looking at KJ10 hts dummy. so led my 7 hts King went up -p plyd Ace,followed,and another club back follow and ruffed again--end of story.
If i lead initially the Ace diamonds 6-spades is a make.perforce
will display full hands,in reply to this article---pard was justified in his raise to 5d,and had his x of 6 spades,as you will see.the curious thing east has to make his contract.

6s down 2 if you lead ace of diamonds and play a heart and part returns a club.

Yes, but if declarer had singleton ♦K instead, it would be 6SX +1 when you could take two red aces at the beginning (plus a ruff). But then we probably wouldn't hear the story.
