Just a tentative enquiry here - my (probable) mixed pairs partner, a member of the England Girls' Team, is considering staying on after that event finishes, and she would like to form a junior team for either the Open or Women's teams - teams comprising solely of members born 1984 or later get free entry. Is there anyone interested in forming such a team?

I actually am interested. However, I'm playing in the junior event and would have to drop out after the round robin.

No guarantee I could play anyway, though.

I would be interested in forming some team and will be onside but I am born 1983, so teams with me playing must either pay or try to talk to organizers to find some "reduced" solution

Bear in mind that entry to the Rosenblum is free for teams comprised entirely of youth players.

Very very cool of the WBF to make the events free for junior teams, otherwise they're quite expensive.

I think it would be even nicer/cooler if they made it free for juniors who are on some non junior teams if they could make some provisions like doesn't apply to professional players or something like that, but I see how that would be kind of impossible to enforce and they might get screwed a little by doing that.

I know there are some junior players who would like to play but are having trouble finding reasonable junior teammates, or any junior teammates for that matter, and genuinely need the deal in order to play.

That said, this way encourages junior players to get other junior players to play on a team with them, so that is obviously a great thing.

Anyways, good job whoever thought of this.

If you are a junior player I would strongly encourage you to try and take advantage of this deal, it is a great chance to compete with some of the best and get good experience and have a good time. This only happens once every 4 years, and who knows in the future if you'll have the time to play again, it's possibly a once in a lifetime thing.

For what it's worth I was born in 1982, have a pretty good job, and am not going almost completely because of the cost (vacation from work is a large factor too).
