none vul, XIMPS, North deals:
P-(P)-1♥-D
R-(P)-??
R shows 2-H; 10-11HCP; 12- total points.
1NT would show 5H; 11-21HCP; 12-22 total points.
2NT would show exactly the same thing.
So would 3NT.
It's not clear to me what those three potential no trump bids should show (especially with the possibility of passing), but I think they should be different.

Differentiate between bids?

Variation on this theme today. Without interference, 1♠-2♦-2♥-?. 2N and 3N appear to mean exactly the same thing. In the maybe-old-fashioned Fast Arrival methodology, 3N would be a minimum and 2N would show extras, but I don't know whether that's customary these days.

I don't think it's common to play fast arrival when bidding NT. 2NT should be something like 12-15 or 18+, 3NT is in between.

Another variation tonight: 1♣-(1♥)-2♥-(p)-?
GIB says 2♠ would mean 4 C; 4+S... So, I might have more than 4 spades but I can't have more than 4 clubs? That doesn't seem right.
GIB says 2NT would mean "Invitational to 3NT -- 3+C; 15-17". The message gets cut off, so I don't know if that's HCP or total points, but if I'm rebidding NT it doesn't matter very much.
I've lost it now, but I think GIB said 3NT would show 16-17. I know it said min 16, but maybe the max was higher.
It seems clear that 2NT should be a minimum opener. What else am I supposed to do with 3433 13HCP or similar?
