partner shouldn't be raising to 4S on a doubleton when he's got a choice of game cuebid available

You probably just forgot that option, but anyway, if partner bids 4 to your 3 you have to try 4 instead of sing off in 4. It will hardly be worse.

The 3 idea is interesting, it keeps the most options open. It's not like we are so sure we belong in hearts with xx.
