See Step 1 for the hand
After bid
1S,-,-,X,2C,2H,2S,3H,3S,4H,X
AKJ
AQxx
Qxxxx
x

Now do you run to 5D or stay.

Run to 5?

The alternatives seem to be to sit back and expect 590 or more, or to try for 880 which has the risk that somebody might run and we collect only 300 or so against 4X. Really, introducing a ratty 5 card suit at the 5 level is not an option.

BTW, it wouldn't hurt to spend 10 seconds in each new thread to reproduce the hand.
(Edit, I see OP has the hand now, thanks)

That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

But you've ignore opponents bidding of clubs what does that say about partner's hand.

Full Hand,

As you 5D is solid, Easier from West but solid none the less. 4H has no chance as far as I can see.

So the split was 5-0. Declarer could still have make it, can't he?

So, why should you run?
Kind Regards

How does he avoid losing a diamond and three hearts, if the defence plays clubs at every opportunity?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Even with the favourable spade lead, I still couldn't see how you do 4H, remember the long hand includes K and 9. Obviously don't cash the K of spades like my partner did and seek to set up the diamonds but opponent will surely force the clubs next.

Don't I see CA + C-ruff +SAK +SJ-ruff +C-ruff. Out to DA, DK(or C-ruff with HJ). Now D-ruff per force and trump endplays by D-ruff gets H10?

you only ruff twice on AQxx hand, so you end up with bare Q no endplay possible.
