My usual style is that 2♦ creates a game force, HOWEVER in an auction like this we can often get out in 4♣ but not 3♣.
I like bidding 2♠ so that I can follow up with 3♥ over 3♣ and then bail if pard bids 4♣.
If pard bids 3nt over 3♥, it should be a partial stopper, ie ♦Qx or Jxx and I can punt with a 4♣ bid. Pard has denied a 4-card major at this point but may choose a 4-3 fit, roughing ♦ in the short hand with appropriate cards, ie doubleton ♦. running clubs and goodish trumps
REALLY tough auction for both pards to get it right and no grief if it goes off the rails
