If partner has a rockcrusher flat hand, then either:
a) he can make 3NT with no help from me, in which case he should have bid it since he knows I don't have anything, or
b) he cannot make 3NT on his own, in which case I'll be happy with +300.

Pass.

Either RHO or CHO is insane.

Assuming partner has his bid, I pass. The most likely holding for partner is a big balanced hand. I have much more defense than I promised with my 2 bid (in other words, I have some defense). Pard heard my 2 bid and doubled 2, which is not for takeout. Why would I bid over 2x?

If you bid over 2x, it is an insult to partner.

I don't understand why pard has to be flat. How about a rock crushing 1-4-3-5? Whatever partner holds, I don't have to be this weak and don't have to have 5 diamonds. So, I guess I will try to show that by bidding the suit again.

Q1)his hand is so good only X can express it
Q2)see Q1 plus he may want you to show a stopper now if you have one
Q3)partner has shown you the rock of Gibraltar (well the back side of it)
just call 3 to show your near Yarborough

Well for once i did Justice to my partner by Passing,it took a few seconds, because i asked my self the questions, for those that bid 3d,it stampedes partner to the wrong decision---looking at the traveller most contracts of 3n/t and 5 diamonds x all went down.
Partners hand indeed a rock crusher.

congrats on your plus 500. It would have beat all the pairs who trusted partner's 3D bid and passed for a partial. Or gotten the same top as plus 110 or 130 (or even minus 100), if no other South could resist bidding game after 3D.

Yes, I agree with you. I posted too quickly and without thinking.
This is still an obvious 3D bid now, and definitely not a pass. In the real world it would not surprise me in the least to find 2S making. Cannot opener have
AQJxxxx xx xx AK That still leaves partner with his bid.
