I guess I bid 2C, thanks to the ace-and-spacey high cards and the spade shortness. But I have no complaint with anybody who passes it, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the better action. Not vul pass would have more going for it.

while partner may have only none, 1, 2, or 3 ♣ he can also have 4,5, 6 or 7. he could also hold a 6 card red suit so bid on ....2♣ for me

Seems like a playable contract, so pass.

2♣ is ok, but if pard goes back to hearts on xx♥, it might not be that hot.

Both are fine, in MP I'd probably pass and hope to play it there.

My experience is that 1NT is not a great contract in this auction even when opener has no viable alternative to passing. 2♣ here is a no brainer, it could even be 3-4 tricks better than 1NT.

Agree. If partner is precisely 3253 we have a better spot less than half the time, otherwise we have a better spot much more than half the time.

Put me down for 2♣ as well. Agree that in MPs it might be tempting to take my chances in 1N...

2♣, don't find it a problem at all. Partner usually has less than 4♠ and 0-2♥ so I fancy myself in a 2m contract which should play heaps better than 1NT.
