Meaning of EACH in Law 45D

English not my language and I'm having a problem with the meaning of "each" in Law 45D, Card Misplayed by Dummy:

If dummy places in the played position a card that declarer did not name, the card must be withdrawn if attention is drawn to it before each side has played to the next trick...

"each" here means... both? either? neither?

Quoting my Oxford dictionary:

Both - The two, not only the one
Each - Every one of two or more

So Both indicates a joint event while Each indicates individual events with evey one in a group.

"Each side" here means (at least) one player from each side.
