Scoring: MP

2♥!-(Pass)-??

2♥=Muiderberg: 5c♥; 4+cMinor; weak (max 3c♠)

You have following options:
- 2NT: asks minor, weak or strong. (partner will always bid 3♣ or 3♦. If you bid over partners answer then it shows a good hand)
- 3♣: limit for the minors (partner passes with weak hand and ♣, bids 3♦ with weak hand and ♦, 3♥ with good hand and ♣, 4♠ with good hand and ♦)
- 3♦:limit for ♥s; (partner bids 3♥ with a bad hand).
- 4♣: Pass or correct
- 3♥: to play
- 4♥: to play
Do you want to know what minor partner has and play in the minor?
Or do you prefer to take the fast route?

I like the psychic 3D.

I think this hand is mostly about keeping the opponents out of 4S and various bids might work, 2NT, 3C (faking a misfit), 3D, 3H, 4H, 4C...

A disadvantage of 4H is that you might go minus when 4S is down.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

I've bid 3♦ on such hand once, and also on a weaker hand once. It worked well both times.

Strongly disagree with this post. Against normal opps I don't think there are any hands that will pass 3D that would bid over 4H with. However there are some hands that will pass 4H that can bid over 3D surely.

Bidding 3D gives them a chance to stop in 3S while jumping to 4H doesn't. However, I see no reason to think that of the hands they choose to stop in 3S with, more than half the time they'll make 4. We have some defense, and they know what their hands are, I think they will judge better than that.

There are some very weak players who will be shut out by our 3D bid since it shows "strength" whereas they'll bid over 4H, but surely they are few and far between.

Agree hanp.
Keep opponents from easy 4S/3S decision. Want a second K/A for limit raise, not min HCP and quacks, but the keep spades out push to 3-level appeals. 3D

Thanks for the answers. I wondered if 4♥ was ok. This is the result FYI:
