It's about 2600 miles from here.
Don't complain. I would have to swim.

Your teammates played against JoAnne and Ed while you and Meg played against Atul and me. Don't feel bad, though, I didn't meet your teammates either.

Earthquakes are fun.
We had a shaker at about Monday night at 9:30. I played in my usualy swiss at Laguna Woods and was into about 5 tricks in a slightly tricky 3N. My RHO wanted to run outside. I'm like eh, whatever, just play.

I arrived for the first game Monday and played a total of 13 games over the next 4 days. I can tell my game is getting better playing this number of games at this level.
The best session was playing in one of the top bracketed knockouts, the game is completely different at this level compared to where I usually play. Here I scored a -1600 after an undisciplined, vulnerable 2D overcall that went wrong. The opps maximise every mistake you make and give no gifts.
Another team I was on (<1000MP) made it to the finals of another bracketed knock out. At half way we were leading by 27 but ended up loosing by 12.
I might find some interesting hands from the pairs games to post, I'd have more if we had hand records for the team matches.
I'll be back next year!

I would be surprised if I could follow suit after so many sessions in so short a time. For me keeping it to two sessions a day makes a huge difference - I feel like I could go for a long time at that pace. Three-a-days kill me though. Well done!

No, I didn't play the midnight knockouts I was in bed by then, replaying hands in my head.
IMP leaue finals tonight and I won't make the mistake of 'playing safe' if we are ahead at the break.
