Passing opps suit After RKCB

Hi,
today I was playing a Robot Tournament (5$). The bidding was:

1S (me) - 3D (opp) - 3S (he) - p
4D (me) - p - 4H (he) - p
4NT (me) - p - 5D (he) - X

I passed this and GIB passed it, too.... I was not sure how he would interpret my pass but I was sure he would not pass it... Obviously, I was wrong... At least slam was down due to JT9x - x break in Spade.... But 1100 was costing me 4 $ :ph34r:
