Scoring: IMP

1C - p - 1H (spades) - 2H (opps are clueless and wouldn't have a way to show heart otherwise) - p - p - x - end

result +1 on dodgy defence but it's cold for 470. 5c looks good but actually goes off.

They had hearts so they bid hearts? Those cunning devils!
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

i was more meaning that they would only have 1 way to bid them and so you can't deduce anything extra about their hands.

I have 6 ways of showing hearts in that position, 2H through 7H all show hearts. I like what jlall once posted here, X is spades+diamonds, 1S is spades+clubs. I don't know why the number of ways of showing hearts is correlated with their cluelessness?

I wouldn't pass the double from North, I have Jx in partner's (usually) 5+ card suit and a 6 card suit, I bid 3C.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
