What if besides the relaxed public club and the general public club a new rated public club would be made. (with some kind of rating, automatic or based on rating of opps partner).
Very strict rules could be enforced for this club. eg. If you disconnect somebody, are impolite,... you are banned from the club for one month and your rating is reset to beginner.
...would it really harm BBO?
Remark: I always play with unknown pick-up partners, which I consider as one of the main advantages of on-line bridge: being able to play whenever you want without prior arrangements. But it would be better if you had some idea of how good partner/opps are.

We have had this discussion umpteen times before.

BBO would have to be very careful in deciding how to implement such a scheme in order to avoid the negative social impact from the rating experienced by other sites.

But if it is a dedicated room then you have the choice. Everybody can take what he likes most.
