there is no reason to assume 3c is a real suit (since 1d followed by 2c then d rebid would normally show 64) 3c could merely be "something in clubs" but it might also be a weak 4 bagger. I would bid 3h which should ask for a PARTIAL heart stopper
(since 3c bid practically guarantees no full heart stop). If opener can now bid 3n we have succeded in "right siding" 3n and we should be happy.

To me, 3 is 6=4 minors. Since we have an excellent play for slam opposite x xx KQxxxx KQxx, and he will hold more than that when he holds a minor suited hand, we cannot give up. So I bid 3 and see what he does next.

BTW, if I were looking for a partial heart stopper, which I am not, 3 is effective that way as well. Depending on style, he can bid either 3N or 3 to suggest a partial stopper....I confess that I would not know which without having discussed the sequence earlier, tho I'd assume 3N was the partial stopper and 3 was an encouraging noise, presumably a stiff....say Kx x KQJxxx KQxx.

Investigate what ? Grand ? :)
I hardly see any sequence when I could stop below 6 now.
It's reasonable slam opposite Qx x KQxxxx Kxxx or x xx KQxxxx QJxx and those are not even standard opening bids.

Sure bid 3, you don't know whether you belong in 3NT or 6 or something else yet.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Slam is in no way certain at this point. If partner has short spades then oppos are very likely to get AH, heart ruff. If partner has short hearts, then we have likely spade loser and AH.

Yes, as for me the negative double followed by the cue simply established a game force. Opener should bid naturally, but I could understand with some hands a manufactured club bid. Maybe Jxx, x, KQxxxx, KQJ. Still, I also follow with 3D.
