MP's, All green.

1NT-(2D!)-2NT!-(3)
Pass-(Pass)-4-(Pass)
4?

Matchpoints!! (weak field)
1NT=15-17 but can contain singleton, 6c minor, 5c major, can be 14 pts
2= DONT ( and or)
2NT=Rubensohl, transfer
3=I didn't ask, but probably this is tolerance for and ???
4=Clubs. No idea if it is weak, strong...Probably not too strong because partner would have bid 5 then.
What is 4 when playing MP's:
- singleton and hoping to improve the contract?
- Good clubs and giving a choice between 4/5?
- Impossible bid, partner did bid 4 and can be very weak with long clubs. Why run from the best contract?

Agree with jjbrr but most likely partner is being dumb.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

I vote for "dumb". By the way, I have had bad results using leben to sign off at the 3-level, then balancing at the 4-level. Maybe I should wait for a seventh club in my weak hand to do it.

4C was to play so opener is not looking to improve the contract with a singleton, he is looking for game (but why...???). Perhaps he has the perfect cards for 5C unless responder is willing to settle in 4S opposite five card suit with opener.

Hi,

4C is forcing, if it is to play, I need a serious discussion with p,
hence 4S is showing a control, denying a diamond and heart
control and club support.
Just because p passed over 3H, does not mean he has no club
support, 2NT could contain a hand, that just wanted to play 3C.

So to answer your question - it is neither of the options you listed.

With kind regards

I suspect opener is mistakenly willing to play 4 or 5.

3 over 2NT should mean, "I don't care about your suits; I want to play in hearts." Doubling 2NT asks partner to compete in his second suit.

Yes, we had something like:

both 4 and 5 would go -1
