Doe anyone know what the double promises in the ultimate club system when it goes partner 1 club ,1sp overcall (promising spades and clubs) , and you double that.

game forcing? 5 plus points ? i cant find a system card for this system on the net.
tx in advance!
Olivier.

You might check www.bridgewithdan.com/systems
Daniel Neill runs this website and has a copy of Ultimate Club notes. You might find something there.

The book only shows single suited interference:

1 (1):

P = Negative / no further relays
X = Like 1, now 1NT Relays as usual / AK AQQ or KKQ
1NT = If balanced, 3 controls (min) or 4 controls (max), unbalanced = 4 controls
2 = 3 Controls (Unchanged)
2+ = Unchanged

X then 2NT = extra controls, balanced
Ultra Relay: see Daniel's web page: https://bridgewithda...19/07/Ultra.pdf
C3: Copious Canape Club is still my favorite system. (Ultra upgraded, PM for notes)

Santa Fe Precision published 8/19. TOP3 published 11/20. Magic experiment (Science Modernized) with Lenzo. 2020: Jan Eric Larsson's Cottontail . 2020. BFUN (Bridge For the UNbalanced) 2021: Weiss Simplified (Canape & Relay). 2022: Canary Modernized, 2023-4: KOK Canape.

Well, it's the only thing I could think of. As for my own opinion, since 1 shows , I don't think that you should treat it any differently than a natural 1 bid.

Ollie, What exactly is your question? Ultimate uses control showing responses, however, that approach is now out of favor for strong Club Systems.

Ultimate Club uses natural bidding if the interference is 1NT or higher.

1 (1NT):

P = Negative
X = At least semi-balanced
2X = Natural
2NT = Minors
3 + M
3X = Exclusion Bid (Neither  or the bid suit)
3NT = Natural
4X = Natural, Slam interest

Well im trying to find out if the double after: 1club(1spade) d is game forcing or not if assuming the double promises points.

I was a little surprised to see a player ( Ricco van Prooyen playing with Louk Verhees )raise to six diamonds after 1cl (1sp) d (4 sp) 5 d (p) ?

1 (1) X:

Is a Mild positive response, 7-8 AKQ points: AQQ, KKQ, AK which would be G.F. since 1 promises 17+ hcp unbalanced and 18+ hcp if balanced.
