3C-4N(quantitative)
5N (even number of keycards and some void :) )-6N (hmm)

I like 1S-2D-3C-4N, then I would just bid 6C as opener.

Guessing:
  • Bidding: 1 - 2 -; 3 - 3; 4 - 4N; 5 - 6; End.
Not very convincing, especially at the end.
  • Play: KA, K discarding a and losing to A, win return chucking another , Cash A, K, red winners, finesse J, claiming 6 , 3 , 2 and 1 . There are some unlikely squeeze possibilities if K is singleton.

I like this bidding.

There are some entry troubles in 6NT. I think we have to clear the before touching or . Then we need to cash our red winners discarding from dummy before trying to run the suit (by finessing J). It will be down a plenty unless behave.

I like Justins bidding much better then the one I had choosen at the table.

For the play: I had tried to find a doubelton Hounor in a black suit by cashing AK of spades and later finessing in club.
Kind Regards

you have an entry problem Codo, you need your diamonds then and dummy is squeezed.

There are remote squeeze possibilities, the most unlikely of which is this show-up squeeze.
After KA and KQ won by LHO's A (You chuck s from dummy). Unless LHO returns a (best), your and winners will inflict a show-up squeeze on him.

Justin's sequence is the one that occurred to me when I saw the OP, altho I then had some second thoughts about not rebidding that 6 card spade suit.

I wonder how most experts would take 5N over 4N? If pick a slam, as I think it should be, my view is that it involves diamonds as well. altho maybe 5 over 4N is natural and forcing, in which case maybe 5N involves only the black suits with a tinge of 6N thrown in?

As it is, I don't understand why S would bid 6N facing a void, which is almost surely in diamonds (not only because we have 5 diamonds and only 3 hearts, but also because with 5=0=3=5, surely opener would have jumped to 6?).

On third thought, I'd go back to the initial idea: an unambiguous 6, which S passes, happily or otherwise.

I bid 5NT over 4NT as opener, it seems to me like 6 is equal length and 5NT (pulling 6 to 6) is a 1 card discrepancy.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.
