Ok...at the table, would tend not to take more than 5 minutes to play to trick one, so:
Win the A, cash the K (if lucky) pitching diamond.
Hook diamond. If it loses, I am almost always down...need to find KQ tight of trump and no trump promotion for 98xx.
So assume it wins, now trump A and a low trump...even if they tease me with the 8 or 9.
This is not going to be comfortable if rho wins the trump and fires the 3rd club at me...in fact, I am now reduced to hoping rho was dealt KQx in trump...I have to ruff with the J and exit a 3rd round.
I'm not always down if rho ruffs the second club...
if he ruffs small, overruff and lead a spade to the J. Who knows? Maybe it holds! Then what? Diamond to the Ace assure me of being able to ruff out the spade Ace but then I have problems getting off dummy and there are diamond ruffs/trump promotions that are unhappy...plus LHO will have QJ in clubs and spade Ace, so maybe won't hold diamond King. So I'd hook diamond and hope to ruff spade Ace out then hook diamond again and now A and a trump, hoping to make an overtrick
If the 2nd club is ruffed with a middle spot, overruff and spade as before.
