Scoring: IMP

(P) - 2 - (P) - ?

Obvious 2*? Or should we let partner fight it out in 2?

*Note that we play 2 is forcing, so it's not a question of being able to play there.

partner has opened in second position, he is not joking he has a decent suit. But he might also have some spade fit, still too many cards in the minors that won't banish anywhere.

I would pass, but I often regret this kind of decisions.

Pass and if it continues X P P run. And now I plug my preferred agreement that a new suit is NF on the 2 level and F on the 3 level (whether it's a jump or not).

nice agreement, specially bid after a 3 opening :P but hey it still works, you first bid 2 then 3 and partner will know to pass

I don't understand this post above me. Sorry Fluffy for not understanding but I don't understand. It's like me saying 1 level overcalls should be weak, and then someone else asking but how does that apply 1?? Well that was a weak analogy I admit. If only we had a professional analogy maker who is not retired...

Anyway you can play transfers over 3 with mandatory acceptances and various choice-of-game sequences.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I doubt that anybody will double and someone will sit for it. And I am not sure whether or not I should run in that case.

But I will pass now and hopefully in tempo.
Kind Regards

Agree with pass, and also prefer to play 2S NF.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

If 2 is forcing I'll have to pass. If not, it's an easy 2 bid.

Will pull to 2 if 2 gets doubled.

If I pass with a straight face, they might even land in 2 (LHO makes a TOX with 3 and and RHO has 4 :blink:)...

Pass and if it continues X P P run. And now I plug my preferred agreement that a new suit is NF when non-vulnerable and F when vulnerable.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

Scoring: IMP

Table 1 Auction:
P - 2 - All Pass
Score: +140

Table 2 Auction:
P - 2 - P - 2;
P - 4 - P - 4;
All Pass
Score: +450

I passed at Table 1 and questioned myself afterwards. From the comments above I feel better. Thanks!

Just because both tables opened 2 doesn't make it either normal or good necessarily!

You know both of the people that opened 2 quite well.

I threw in "necessarily" because I'm not sure it's bad either, but wow it's easy to see what could go wrong and it's certainly offbeat.

Echo, no need to feel bad about this. If you do a sim, pass is probably right in more than 50% of the cases.

it was puppy humor, perhaps insufficient.

Agree with the pass, and I wouldn't open 2 on that in 2nd seat!
