You are vulnerable against not and pick up this uninteresting hand.

Scoring: IMP

Partner opens a precision 1D, promising a minimum of 2 diamonds and a range of 11-15. (24)25 shape is also possible. Any balanced hand in the range (11)12-15 also opens 1D.

RHO passes and you pass as well. LHO Xes and this is passed around to you. Your call?

partner could have bid if he had 4M5C or something. I am not going to look for something else now. if I xx with this hand and also on 4414 partner will have a tough time to make an intelligent decision.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Hmm I XX, whether I have this shape or 4414 partner will want to run to his longest other suit. The only difference is it impacts his choice whether to play 1XX, and somehow I doubt that's the right choice anyway...

I'm all aboard the "opponents aren't crazy" train.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Would he not also bid with 4M and 6D or something? Bidding by partner is not running, he doesn't know he's about to play doubled, it shows extra offense with that suit and diamonds. Bidding to run before doubled is suicide, it just increases your chance that you'll get doubled.

Why? Assuming you're never going to play diamonds or NT, partner will be able to make an exactly equal decision opposite 333 and 444, they are basically the same unless you need to play in 2C opposite 333 and 1M opposite 444 which is not that likely.

I never run with this kind of hand and it is always wrong, opponents passed at the 1 level for a reason, at least for the level on wich I am used to play, you better trust them and run.
