3♦ explained as 3-C, 4+D, 13+ total points. I count 1 less ♦ than it promised, 1 more ♣ than it can have, and 2 fewer points (sorry, you're not allowed to upgrade 4333 hands). If it wanted to force, it could bid 3♠. But where does it think we're going when I'm a passed hand (no one has told GIB that we routinely pass normal opening hands when playing races, have they)? 4♣ makes, but instead we went down 3 in 3♦.
