I would not bid over 2♠ on first round.

3♥. Lucky I didnt bid previous round since surely parner woud raise to 4♥. I dont like our chances in 4♥ opposite a passed hand.

pass and 4♥ for me. but I don't understand how they pass so meekly and partner reopens so happily. something weird is going on I think? anyway if he has a small doubleton in spades every value he brings will be useful so I don't think it's so bad to hang him just this one last time.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

2S is effective enough to keep me out the first time, but I now have to play game. Would be nice to play 4H from partners side but I am not sure that is possible. If I have a toy to show a good 4H bid I use it, if not I bid 4H.

Pass and 3♥, period.

I am not going to hang partner for balancing. Remember that partner will open the bidding freely (like most in these Fora). He didn't open the bidding. I expect to make 8-10 tricks.

LHO did not raise spades, so partner probably has at least 2 spades.

Bidding 4♥ could result in a making game some of the time. It could also run into a double by the passed hand partner of the 2♠ bidder some of the time.

I would like to know what the x in ♣ is before I decide to pass and bid 3♥ with my balanced minimum opposite a passed hand.

This is a bit sarcastic?

Did you notice we got all the spot cards except for the club? Could be a trap.

Did you also notice it's a balanced minimum opposite a passed hand?

Well that makes my bids clear imo. I thought the ♣x might be an Uno card or something and we'd have a different class of problems.

Assuming lebensohl still applies then 3♥ is clear this time. It has to incorporate a stronger range than if partner were an unpassed hand since it invites him to bid game as a passed hand.
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

Pass the first time and 3H the second regardless of whether Lebensohl applies or not; partner is a passed hand.

Heart warming. I have been chided for years for using Leben in this situation, but we stuck to our guns, with no downside. Partner's double is a passed hand double, but we are not a passed hand ---merely a hand which had no decent call directly over 2S.

A non-leben 3H here shows a very strong hand in context. The passed hand doubler is allowed to raise with appropriate non-opening values.

Are people really playing Lebensohl here? Opposite a passed-hand double (which has a narrow range in strength) a scrambling 2N seems much more important to me.

a narrow range, but wide in offensive playing strength. Some 9 or ten-counts are very much different from others.

I would pass first time around and bid 4♥ the second time around. I play 2NT as scrambling in this auction. But even if I did not, when as a passed hand, partner is doubling, I think he has a stiff most of time.
