that every thread's post count/view count ratio is so low? On other forums plenty of threads get nearly a 1:1 ratio, which is great. But here it seems people don't contribute as much :( 50 posts and over 1000 reads?

How many lurkers are out there just reading but never registering or posting?

If any of you out there would like to register and introduce yourself in this thread, please feel free!

One reason is that people sometimes go back to read others' comments after their own post.

Suppose, for instance, that I want to check on what is going on with this topic a few times. The first time, I typed in this response. The next 10 times, I won't post a response (hopefully). I might, however, return to see if anyone thought my spin on this issue was very good, insane, or meaningless. I might check to see what wild conspiracy theory Winston uses to explain this issue. Whatever. But, my one "post" might be coupled with 20 views, if I find this issue fascinating.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Of course I do the same thing. I guess the lack of traffic makes it possible to reread the thread many times before others can contribute to the thread.

I still want lurkers to register and introduce themselves here ldo.

Is it really great? It shows for me that nobody read these threads except a few posters and ...even they dont read responses very often, otherwise the ratio would never be nearly 1:1. It sounds like a "virtual cementary" :(

I think the 1:50 ratio just shows that there are much more people reading BBF than the regular posters, whixh doesn't strike me as specially bad... Being myself a lurker here for more than two years now, I can try to give reasons why I don't post more : I don't play enough good bridge to posts question in the A/E section, and I am not bad enough to ask in the B/I. More seriously, it just happens that I don't have enough time to post (and frequently that, when I read a thread for the first time, a few dozens of interesting answers have already been given and I don't feel I could add something to the discussion). Reading BBF is already very time-consuming, I think most people couldn't post as much as the frequent posters here even if they wanted to.

Haven't figured out how to post the actual picture as in the above but maybe it's just as well if nobody tells me.
