Scoring: MP

p-1-p-1
P-1-P-3NT

I was slumming, the partner had a tendency to hog hands and overbid his own suits.

I would not have opened the hand he had, but he did, and having as responder the values of an opening bid, i bid 3nt after listening to 1h.

lead was a 4th best spade

standard play, i hold up, i do make the 3nt.

the partner logs off before the 7 of 8 is over, but no love lost,

the score was a ZERO, ATB

I assume you mean you did not make 3NT? Otherwise why a zero? (edit: ok, it's not a zero after all, this thread is now meaningless)

Anyway, no blame. 25 points, all suits stopped, no major fit, 3NT seems like a normal contract.

As for north's opening bid, it is aggressive but with all honors in the long suits I am ok with it.

I don't understand.

The opening bid is normal. The bidding is not terrible. The final contract is normal. I assume that 3NT made after holding up the spade.

Why is making 9 tricks a zero? It seems like a normal result. Unless you mean that this was scored at IMPs and the result was zero IMPs.

Looks normal.

I think most would open the North hand. Rule of 20, all values in the two long suits.

Win 3rd spade trick, heart finesse, diamond to the king (E will duck), repeat heart finesse, now small club to the ace. Club finesse fails. Whatever East now play you make it. One spade trick, three heart tricks, one diamond trick, four club tricks. Maybe some defenders at other tables gave declarer an extra diamond trick. But 9 tricks should not be such a bad score. Some declarers may play clubs first, then they don't have entries for two heart finesses.
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

actually i did make 3nt, some were down 4, some were down 1

on the end the result was 66 percent

here is what i think has been happening at odd times in the windiws server

some scores appear on my movie and then change later

before they only appeared when the round was complete

so the zero eventually became 66 percent

thanks folks

sometimes the field is cruel :)

what are the chances of everyone but your opponents scoring -800/1100 on a normal hand?, I haven't seen it yet, but you are suposed to score a bottom from time to time on a hand where playing a much larger field you'd score a top.

I'd love for a 66% score on a given hand to be the controversial "assess the blame" hand of the session.
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."
