Scoring: IMP

1-(1NT)-Pass-(Pass)
??

Note about partner's options over 1NT iso his pass:
DBL: penalty
2: or 4cM and 5cminor
2: support
2: &
2:
(We play the same as over a weak 1NT opener. Certainly not best after a 1NT overcall)
...partner could have signed off to all suit at 2-level, but not

Does your choice change when green or at MP's?

I also did bid 2 and bidding continued:
1-(1NT)-Pas-(Pas)
2-(DBL)-2-(Pas)
Pas-(DBL)-2-(DBL)
All Pass

2x did go min 2 and that was expensive at IMPs.
Now I'm not sure anymore if bidding 2 is a good idea Vulnerable at IMPs.
Partner had a weak: 5=2=4=2, he could have passed 2x for min 1 (The 's were 3-3, but partner feared a 5-1)

The system you described is what partner could have done directly, after a NT overcall, right? As opener and (now) reopener, you showed two five card suits --hearts and clubs.

Partner gave his preference, and then removed his own preference. How can that be right?

IMO it pays to balance in this position even with something like 3514 shape as long as the suits are good. 5-5 1525 is really a no brainer.

I'm a little concerned about the spade stiff. No 1 spade overcall, no transfer makes pards marginal bust with spades a real possibility.

I would still bid 2 clubs most of the time unless I knew the opponent(s) to be conservative and/or a heart lead against 1NT shoud be fine if I think we are ahead in the match.

I know the risks one of which is NOT pard removing 2 hearts doubled to 2 spades.

agree, but how would you then rate these player I found at the local? this is REAL:

(1)-2-(2)-2
(X)-3-(3)-ps
(ps)-4-(ps)-ps
(X)-ps-(ps)-4

The red suits of the player who bid 2 (yes, over 2, but I was the only guy to nitice in the table lol). and then rectified 4 to 4:

KJ9x
10x

This is a sequel to a Victor Mollo book. I can't tell which animal is which without a final result.

Are all the bids natural? If not what are the conventions? 2 over 1 is not impossible to be natural.
