HI all, would any of you care to take a look at my website, I am in the process of uploading a lot of acol based notes onto my website for anyone to view, I would like some feed back (my opinion of my own work is probably different from how others see it)

From the Home page go to "Andrew Kambities" and "Andrew Kambites different design" pages ( you will have to go back to the home page to get to either link)

The "Andrew Kambites different design" I have not completed the work on this page (due to it being time consuming and I would like some opinions before I convert all the links, BUT the first column is how it will be presented to the public

Some of the questions I would like answers to

Do you like either layout? and your prefence

Do you think the index page is a good idea on the "Andrew Kambites" page?

Do you think the "Andrew Kambites different design" page is easier for anyone to use?

Do you think I should put the files in order of how they should be taught (this is a comment from a teacher I would like other opinions on this, also I would like some opinions as to what would be the correct order)

Colour scheme?

after these questions, I am happy for suggestions as to how to do it, if you feel I have totally missed an opportunity,

You want feedback?

OK, here is some.

First of all, you need an introduction-explanation.

As far as I know, Kambite wrote yet another book on Acol. Or perhaps two.

Otherwise he is totally unknown for me. (Im a foreigner yes, and Acol isnt the main weapon in my arsenal, but I`M one interested person. And I do play Acol when I can, both a rather strict classical Acol, and a modern Acol).

Seeing your ambitious site, I suppose he didnt wrote just yet another book, but a whole new approach. Yes?

So do explain it somewhat AT THE beginning.

Why you say Acol but mean lots about Kambite.

Who is he, what is his new idea - short.

After it people will perhaps find the energy to dive into your material. B)

Thanks Tola,

I am in the process of uploading files for people that attend our face to face meetings, I do not disagree that there is room for an introduction, that will come in time, at the moment, I just wanted some feed back on the layouts and general helpful ideas to improve the information I am making available.

Just for your info, Andrew Kambites is a nice chap who teaches bridge in England, when I have decided the best layout, then the pages will be renamed something suitable and an introduction added.

I prefer the original design, but replace the numbers with the topic. Also where there are hands, consider combining them with the topic.

For example, currently

Bidding
B1
B1 hands

into

Bidding
Fourth suit forcing (hands)

with the appropriate links for the hands and topic.

Further sub-classification would also be appropriate, such as competitive bidding, slam bidding, etc., but this is a second task.
The Beer Card

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

The "different" design is better. Sections entitled "B1" are meaningless and unmemorable.

As the previous poster said, an intro would be nice to explain what the hell the whole thing is about in the first place.

Also, what about section ordering? Is this aimed at beginner/intermediates - if so why is the first section about fourth suit forcing?

Section B1 has a typo "because the clubs were string but the spades weak" - what is meant, I presume, is "strong".
