So, you like to help others learn our great game? Are you an expert with the communication skills to teach one-on-one (or pairs or small groups)?

The BIL needs your help to aid the rapidly growing group of higher level beginner and improving intermediate players who would benefit from some one-on-one exposure to your expertise.

The BIL Mentor Program pairs highly motivated students with volunteer teacher/mentors for up to six months of in depth learning -- with content, style and pace determined by you!

Immediate Openings! We have waiting lists of students who need you to teach them how to do it right! :P

We currently are in greatest need of teachers with solid 5 card major backgrounds to teach SAYC and SA. Lots of players ISO good teachers!

We also have a very motivated 2/1 upper level intermediate who wants to groom her skills for sectionals and regionals.

And we are still in need of Forum D, and ACOL teachers.

A personal aside: I thought I was a pretty okay bridge player. But I wanted to take my game to a higher level and signed up for the BIL mentor program about a year ago to hone my basic understanding of 2/1. I was assigned a mentor who really knew the game and was an expert 2/1 player himself. We worked on bidding and more bidding and more bidding after that and I gotta' say, he made me work my tail off. But now, at last, I finally get it. It was worth every minute of all that hard work. And you know what? I think my teacher enjoyed it almost as much as I did! And now he has a pard he can use once in a while when all his other big time expert buds are busy playing money bridge or whatever!
