I create boards in a .pbn file - I can open this correctly in BBO app, but I want to use these in a tournament.
I tried about everything, but besides being very user-unfriendly, the "use saved boards" option when creating a new tournament does not seem to allow for this.

Can anyone help me?

If you are using BBO Windows, I think I can help.

Once you have created the tournament, use the 'table' button and select
'upload pre-set hands for tourney'

as far as i know you have to open ur pbn file first with netbridgevu.exe. then the exe will create a lin-copy of the pbn file in the same directory and u will have to use this.
i think bbo still needs the lin.

I guess you're right - I noticed a .lin copy was made but did not notice that it was that one that is used when uploading.

But I still wonder if it is possible to upload files in web mode; I now uploaded using the windows app and then switched to the web app to conduct the tournament - which indeed contained the correct set of boards.

Also funny that you can upload the boards but cannot view or edit them anywhere - you just have to cross fingers and hope they are correct.

In general, the web client can't do anything that involves reading or writing files on your computer. Hand records, convention cards, etc. are all stored on the BBO servers.

Hi,

using netbridgevu.exe is certainly the official way of converting
pbn to lin.

But maybe the following is also of interest for you:

Richard Pavlicek has written a program to convert various formats,
see http://www.rpbridge.net/rput.htm

So you could bypass the windows version, and you will also be able to
cross check the conversion.
I would assume, that Richard Pavlicek was able to use the documantation of
LIN format, which is only provided on special request and you need to be able
to make your case.

With kind regards
