You hold:

AKJxxxx
Kx

T9xx

And open 1 which your partner responds with 2 (11+), what do you bid?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

2 is reasonable, unless you are part of the significant minority who have agreed 1M-2m-2M is nonforcing (in which case 3 is the standout.)

There may well be a case for 3 anyway, if you agree that it shows this kind of concentration in spades, rather than just a little bit extra in values. What DOES 3 show, for those of you who wouldn't dream of anything other than 2 on the posted hand?

If partner has 11 or more diamonds, who am I to over-ride his trump suit?
"Gibberish in, gibberish out. A trial judge, three sets of lawyers, and now three appellate judges cannot agree on what this law means. And we ask police officers, prosecutors, defense lawyers, and citizens to enforce or abide by it? The legislature continues to write unreadable statutes. Gibberish should not be enforced as law."

Hi,

4S.

Depending on vulnerability, this may have been a 4S opening.

3S would show a hand, which has a strong desire to investigate slam,
6S that is.
With the given hand, you either now bid 2S followed by 4S, or 4S direct,
it is certainly a mood point, one way or the other as long as 2S is forcing,
playing with a stranger I am not going to risk this, playing with a regular
p you may have discussed the difference.

Historically, any jump bid in a forcing situation shows a solid, self-supporting suit

I vote for 2, or open 4

2S - Pard just bid your void which devalues your hand signficantly..Opening 4S is also a possibility but I dont like this missing both the Q and T of s..
