I fixed the problem described below by uninstalling bbo, then (apparently essential) restarting the computer, and then re-installing bbo.

I found my previous letter on this, with a similar problem and solution. I don't get it at all, but I am back in action.

Hi,

Something is weird.

I am at my laptop, running Windows7 with Firefox browser. I was on BBO (the downloadable version) and I clicked on "Our Online Store". Nothing came up, I attempted to close, and a message came up saying NetBridgeVu.exe is not responding and provided a menu to so I could Wait or Close, I closed. Now I cannot get back onto BBO from this computer.

Downstairs I run on XP Pro, and also have BBO, downloadable. I just checked, I can open BBO and I can open the Online Sore. After checking that I can get on with XP, I came back up and checked the Windows7 again, I still cannot get on. It partially opens and announces that it is updating the convention cards, and then produces a white page and announces BridgeBaseOnline Version 5.2.6 (Not Responding).

I had some similar problem before, and wrote about it before. I seem to recall that there was some really simple explanation, and I recall saying that perhaps my problem should just be deleted since I was being so silly. Well, here we are again, and if the solution was simple I have forgotten it.

Something is fishy with the way that BBO interacts, either with Windows 7 or with Firefox. A week or so back I was playing a team game when suddenly BBO just shut me down. I went down to the XP and got back on, no one else having had problems. Of course this can happen, but I have not been having problems as long as i use the XP. But the Windows 7 is closer to the coffee pot. Edit: No, uninstalling and reinstalling does not work either. I can get on to BBO bypassng tghe downloadable version but I cannot get past the "Updating Convention Cards" phase of opening the downloaded version.

When I had problems before, I solved them by uninstalling and then re-installing bbo. That worked, and probably will again. I am hoping for a better solution.

Side issue: I prefer the interface with the downloadable version to the one where I just go through the web.
