Pass - (Pass) - 1NT - (Double)*
Pass -   (2♣) -  2♦ -   (3♣)
Double

* Double = Opening Hand (1NT is 15/17)

Nobody vul, you pass in first seat. Do you think your final double is for penalties or take out? If it makes a difference, you have no specific agreements as to what XX would have been over the initial double.

looks like penalty to me. Opener described his hand, he has 15-17 with 5-6 diamonds.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Would be take out to me because we have the meta agreement that in doubt all doubles ae take out.
Kind Regards

Penalty. Are we waiting till we know which doubleton opener has or can we just stop playing takeout doubles when we are this close to knowing his exact shape?
Please let me know about any questions or interest or bug reports about GIB.

have same agreement, but there is no doubt,

44 majors you simply bid the bid, that shows 44 majors, stayman or whatever
dia fit and values you bid 3Dia in doubt
this is pure penalty based on good clubs. Doubler has some 15 points with 4 clubs, his partner ran out of the double with any 4333 and close to 0 points and I have 6 or 7 points with QJTx in clubs and probably a king or an ace in a major.
am happy that partner will lead a trump as often as possible and that the hand will have no entry, so dummy will be endplayed all the time. Defense with all points in dummy and knowing pd has the rest will not be too difficult, expect to score plus even when 3nt is making

Clear penalty. It is clear by logic (mine, anyway), don't even need an agreement.
Opener has fully described his hand as 15-17 and 5-6 diamonds so responder is in charge and his choice is to defend 3CX.
