Tournament--pard dealer opens 1n/t (15-17) lucky i am with an Expert partner.(new partnership)
next hand bids 2cl-quickly thinking, and before i could make my bid,the left hand opp--types in chat for all to see "Landy P"--Now i summonded TD,which took some time, i remained silent,as it happens lots of dissconnects, and confusingly TD arrived ANBA-TOURNAMENT? so i assumed atendee "TD". I then typed for all to see,LH opponent asking questions during auction?--------I recd no answer, then the 2cl bidder typed in for all to see "trouble maker"-so backing off i bid 2d-Lh opp bid 2hts,
my pard raised 2d-3d --at this point,i private clicked the 2cl, bidder " 2cl NATURAL?"
back came "No information" and bid 3hts---I now wanted to bid 3sp/or 4D, while thinking this through--chat comes up Boot him?
Now ones judgement is clouded.plus we vuln opps green.so decided to pass,
wrong decision, as it happens 3sp/4 d winning bid. opps made 3h+1 through a cock up in def-but not the point, and im not having sour grapes.
but did i observe table protocol, and i felt let down by whoomever TD was.
and should opps talk during auction???
DOES "NO INFO" MEAN NATURAL????? can one ask for adj score,if so how???

you seem to get the same TD support that OKB provides.

"No information" means that they haven't discussed it (it sounds like a pick-up partnership). You're only entitled to know the opponents' agreements. Since his partner has to guess what it means, it's only fair that you do, too.

LHO's chat sounds like he guessed Landy. But since RHO never confirmed or denied, he could be guessing wrong.

The only potential problem is if RHO has heart support, but didn't raise hearts because the comment warned him that LHO was only showing heart support, not a heart suit of his own. The comment in chat is UI, so he must disregard it and bid as if his partner understood his 2 bid the way he intended it.

The only thing any of us can say is "Don't let it bother you." This topic has been discussed several times on the forum before, and there really is no viable solution.

Basically "tournament" is an exaggeration. So don't form any expectations related to the normal use of the term.

Don't take it so seriously. You were a pick-up partnership, they were a pick-up partnership. The event is called a "tournament" but only because it was arranged that way. If it was a free tournament, there is no assurance of quality directing, it varies. UI may be rampant and not ruled upon. Rulings may have no connection to the laws. TD may not even know the laws. You have other options where to play.

Anyway, to answer your question: "no information" means that the call was not discussed and that the pair had no agreement what the meaning of the call is. You can assume/guess what you want, and the opposing pair is doing the same - guessing. THAT'S HOW IT IS IN PICKUP PARTNERSHIPS.
