Ex-Vice President Dick Cheney today pointed to Haiti as an example where President Obama has been "soft on earthquakes and is making us all less safe". Cheney claims the Haitian quake is part of a larger "ring of fire" which is intent on nothing but turmoil and devastation. He emphasized the only way to fight killer quakes is to keep the Gitmo Human Endurance Scientific Research Facility open and send a tsunami-like counter surge against the forces who "hate us for our multi-story buildings".

I think Pat Robertson could be the most important man in the history of the world. All he has to do is let us know which areas and civilizations are going to fall victim to the wrath of the almighty one day, and which ones are safe. Then I suppose when a natural disaster befalls a safe area we will know to chalk it up to back luck and not have to worry about this stuff.

Not sure what the difference is between conservative and right-winger in a US context (in Europe, liberals are sometimes considered to the right of conservatives (NL) while sometimes to the left of the socialists (UK), so I don't even understand those terms in a European context, let alone other continents).

Anyway, I think Lynn describes himself as a conservative but not as right-winged, hence my choice of terminology.
